According to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, South Korean First Vice Foreign Minister Choi Jong-gun spoke with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Takeo Mori(森健良)on the afternoon of the March 11th to discuss the Korean Peninsula and Russian invasion in Ukraine.
They shared a current situation assessment regardingsuccessive launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea in violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions.
Russian invasion was condemned and urged to be stopped immediately, stressing the importance of a united response from the international community including sanctions.Communication and cooperation on the impact of the Ukraine crisis on the global economy were also discussed, including energy supply and countermeasures.
The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "The vice Foreign ministersreaffirmed the importance of cooperation amid rapidly changing international situation and decided to continue close cooperation between South Korea, United States and Japan.”
