On June 7, Defense Minister Lee Jong-seopmet Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak to attend the first release ceremony of FA-50 GF fighter jets scheduled to be exported to Poland at the Korea Aerospace Industry (KAI) Sacheon Hangar, followed by the first "Korea-PolandDefense Cooperation Committee."
The meeting between Minister Lee and Deputy Prime Minister Buashchak was heldfor the first time after the bilateral ministerial meetingin Poland on February 23.The discussion tried to confirm the Polish government's high confidence in the introduction of our weapons system and its willingness to expanddefense cooperation between the two countries.
Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the establishment of the Korea-Poland Joint Committee for defense cooperation. Two countries held an initial meeting to comprehensively discuss ways to develop defense cooperation.
Minister Lee noted that the two countries are discussing further defense cooperation, including follow-up contracts and local production in Poland.He emphasized the trust in defense cooperation and asked for Deputy Prime Minister Buashak's attention and support.
After the joint committee, Poland's Deputy Prime Ministervisited the Promotion Science Training Center to observe the 2023 Joint Fire Fighting Training organized by Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop.
Poland will directly confirm our weapon system and military operational capabilities verified through various practical training, providing an opportunity to expand defense cooperation between the two countries in various areas in the future.
