Korean Agency for Technology and Standards held a ‘General Meeting and Performance Exchange of Self-Driving Vehicle Standardization Forum’ at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel on the 14th. A lot of experts including Cho Sung-hwan, chairman of the ISO (Hyundai Mobis) and Anthony Chough, vice chairman of the SAE(International Society of Automotive Engineers) participated.
In order to lead the standardization of self-driving, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards launched the '18-November' Self-Driving Standardization Forum.This conference invited the SAE,a standard development agency in the field of autonomous driving, to sign a business agreement on self-driving standardization and share the latest trends.
Sanghoon Lee,the head of the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards,and Anthony Chough, vice chairman of SAE, signed a business agreement for standardization cooperation.The Korea-U.S. standardization agency aims to establish a system and strengthen technology cooperation.
At the forum's performance exchange meeting, Korean and U.S. experts shared the latest trends in the autonomous driving industry.Furthermore, theyintroduced the status ofnational, international, and group standards development in the autonomous driving sector.
Moon Il-ki, head of Hyundai Mobis,introduced trends in autonomous vehicle technology development.Also, Christian Thiele, director of the SAE, announced the standardization direction of the autonomous driving sector through the "SAE Standardization Roadmap."
Sanghoon Leementioned that "In the future, autonomous driving functions are expected to be expanded in automobiles and robots."
